The Dutch keep making headlines with their automotive startups and innovations. Most recently, they made headlines regarding electric buses.

Ebusco are a Dutch electric bus manufacturing firm that were first established in 2010. Since then they have gone on to develop two silent and sustainable buses. The buses can hold 90-95 passengers and drive a range of 350-500 km.

Since 2010, Ebusco have continuously been developing their buses and at this point, they have over 150 buses driving around the Netherlands alone. More of their buses are being used in several German cities, with the support and collaborative efforts of Stadtwerken München and Deutsche Bahn.

The Dutch government were the first to take initiative against diesel buses and in 2016 have stated that between 2025 and 2030 there will be no more diesel buses on their roads. The Hungarian government are following suit and have now started using Ebuscos to test electric buses on their infrastructure and get their drivers used to them.

Auto Trendy’s take:

In 10 years, Ebusco have been able to establish themselves as major competitors in the electric bus market. With other well-known bus manufacturers such as VDL and Volvo also releasing electric buses, it is a big achievement for Ebusco to get the government contract in Hungary. The company has been growing at a great pace and we’re looking forward to report on their continuous progress.
