The Valhalla will be the third hypercar in the mid-engine lineup of Aston Martin. It is expected to go into production in 2022. It is a revolutionary car, inspired by Aston Martin Valkyrie, taking ideas from F1 (Formula 1), and designed together with Red Bull Advanced Technologies. It is a limited-edition vehicle, with only 500 to be made. In other words, a street-legal performance beast from the order of F1 type of cars.

The powertrain, inspired by F1, will feature a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine in combination with a hybrid system. Some of the few details which has been leaked out are the following:

- Engine designed in-house

- Dry sump system ensuring a proper lubrication of the engine

- Carbon-fiber structure of the machine for lower weight

Auto Trendy’s take:

Recently, we looked at a McLaren supercar which would incorporate a hybrid powertrain. Today, we look at a vehicle from the hypercar class, which is also designed to be propelled by electric motors, in addition to the conventional combustion engine. Huge OEMs are confirming the trend of electrification, which is spreading over all the automotive industry segments. This trend seems to validate the following question: Are internal combustion engines going to disappear completely, and if so, when?
